Hiking and walking from le Planay-Dessus
From the chalet in Le Planay, you are exactly at the starting point of the best hikes. 70kms of footpaths, connected to "Parc de la Vanoise" and "Gran Paradiso" national parks.
The many manned mountain huts, in France and Italy, offer the possibility for trips lasting several days.
Many of the footpaths pass through the traditional alpine villages. Others lead to the calm and tranquil mountain lakes.
Snow-capped peaks, mountain lakes, forests of pine and larch, high pastures and glaciers are all accessible to the day walker. A little extra effort will bring you to parts of this wilderness where you are more likely to see marmots, chamois, alpine ibex and even eagles, than many other walkers.

Mountaineering :
To the highest peaks in the Vanoise, such as the Sassière,  or the Mont Pourri.
