How to usethe wood-burning insert

Cleaning the insert glass
Cleaning the insert glass
  • The fan starts and stops automatically when the insert is hot — do not turn it off manually (risk of overheating)
  • The lever at the bottom of the door controls airflow: left to start the fire, right for long burning and to activate secondary combustion
  • The cast-iron plates are fragile — avoid knocking logs against them
  • To clean the glass: use a Scotch-Brite pad with oven cleaner or specialist insert cleaner (in the WC 1 cupboard)
  • Empty the ash into the square metal box (the small trowel is useful)

Waste & parking

Recycling

Three underground bins at the bottom of the car park: GLASS / PACKAGING / GENERAL WASTE

Car park (free)

  • Tip 1: pull your car up to the first house in the hamlet while you unload your luggage
  • Tip 2: park in reverse (facing out towards the road) — if your battery dies, a neighbour can jump-start you easily
